Continuing my discussion and comparisons about the Texas Renaissance Festival attendance and weather, looking at the Second Weekend 2016- 1001 Dreams. In total contrast to last week, this weekend’s the weather was rather unpleasant, and not just for someone wearing a heavy double-breasted tunic. (Lots of people falling out from the heat!) It did not, however, deter guests from attending. The fairies are always popular with the families.
As you can see the numbers are almost identical to last weekend’s. Also, like last week, more records were broken. 29,424 is a record for the second weekend Sunday, and 60,661 is a record for a second weekend.
|2016||Clear, High 90°, Low 65 °, 85% Humidity||Partly Cloudy, High 91°, Low 71 °, 91% Humidity|
|2015||Clear, High 84°, Low 61 °, 62% Humidity||Clear, High 81°, Low 54 °, 51% Humidity|
Interestingly if you compare conditions from the first weekend you’ll see that the weather conditions are almost an exact flip flop from last year, we just got the nice weekend first this time.
A beautiful forecast and Pirate Weekend for next time. I think I’ll have a lot to say about both attendance and the weather.
See you at the gates… Until then, ‘Fare thee well!’
