Great weather for the final weekend of the season, and with attendance records broken all season, we knew the final weekend was going to be a good one, and we were right!
The big difference in attendance was due to the weather. Final weekend last year saw rain and drizzle all weekend, going from damp and muggy to damp and chilly, and remembered as all-around pretty miserable. This year near perfect temperatures and low humidity made for a busy and fun time for all.
|2016||Clearing, High 72°, Low 59°, 61% Humidity||Clear, High 70°, Low 55°, 54% Humidity||Clear, High 72°, Low 53°, 57% Humidity|
|2015||Cloudy to Rain, High 77°, Low 70°, 78% Humidity||Light Rain, High 49°, Low 47°, 94% Humidity||Cloudy with Drizzle, High 51°, Low 47°, 96% Humidity|
Last season had an attendance total of 474,713, which was down substantially from the prior two years, due to having eight rain days. a couple of the weekend were almost total washouts. This year everything was different with no rain all year and four daily attendance records broken, and the season total record of 678,550 beating the previous best season by almost 72,00 attendees. What a great season!
Next year adds a ninth weekend to the schedule, so we’ll be starting a week earlier. See you then, and have a safe and prosperous year!
See you at the gates… Until then, ‘Fare thee well!’
